Whether in the kitchen or bathroom, a faucet is certainly one of the most used products. However, its importance goes far beyond functionality – it is also a prime place to make a style statement and enhance the overall design.
Today's plumbing fixtures offer endless possibilities beyond the traditional stainless steel faucet or showerhead. Manufacturers continue to push the boundaries of what a traditional faucet should look like by creating bold curves and finish combinations, and they're turning to design firms to go even further.
In fact, the modern plumbing fixtures on this list come from style-focused brands or collaborations between well-known designers. The result is sleek, modern fixtures that attract attention while still serving their purpose.

Such collaborations can also benefit customers' demands for modern, high-quality pieces. According to a recent report from luxury bathroom manufacturer House of Rohl, more and more homeowners want spaces that reflect their style. A newly introduced and trendy finish revives Franz Viegener's Lollipop bathroom faucet range. The new PVD Satin Greystone finish is a “silky” anthracite, according to the company, and offers a tactical shine and a deep tone. It is fingerprint-proof and 10 times more scratch-resistant than non-PVD finishes. The finish will be available on all Franz Viegener faucet ranges.
Milan-based Ronen Joseph Design Studio has catapulted the kitchen faucet into the future with its Kanta design. The studio says its work combines three themes: industrial design, interior design and high-tech. Kanta is no exception. The kitchen faucet is made of soft silicone that contrasts with solid brass, and its dramatic curve is in direct contrast to the angled features of the base. HamatUSA also says the design is ergonomic, allowing the user to freely control the faucet once it has been removed from the metal base. The knob protruding from the top of the faucet can be used to control water flow settings and temperature, and a push button turns the faucet on and off. Kanta is available in six different finish combinations.

Gessi describes its new SpotWater shower system collection as bold yet clean, classic yet industrial. The four pivoting, tubular showerheads were inspired by spotlights used in stage productions. Each showerhead offers the user a different water flow and experience, such as rain, mist, waterfall or multi-spray. The company says the showerheads fit well in minimalist-inspired spaces but are versatile enough to fit into a range of bathroom styles. Available finishes include copper, aged bronze, polished nickel, antique brass, white, black and gold.
