The goal with self-adhesive tile mats is quite simply to make it easier to attach tiles to a backsplash. This product offers benefits. For example, you don’t have to worry about mixing grout and grout and applying it to the wall or the back of the tile. Instead, this double-sided, tape-like material is applied first and you simply stick the tile on top.
The benefit of this is that you don’t have to wait for the typical grout setting before applying the tile, nor do you have to worry about the grout being just right and level to provide a level surface for the back wall to accomplish. Once you’ve got the tile in place you’ll still need to coat it with grout to fill in the gaps unless you choose not to, but the overall process can be a little quicker.
There is also more time forgiveness here. For example, if you can only do small sections at a time due to time constraints, you can do so without fear of the mortar drying out.
