Buffalo NY Woman In Viral Video Helping Elderly Disabled Man

Video of a Buffalo mother has gone viral after she found a 64-year-old elderly man walking down her street in distress and severely frostbitten. The woman can be seen in the video asking for someone to come and help the man. He and her boyfriend brought the mentally challenged man to their home after hearing him screaming for help in the blizzard. The man suffers from severe frostbite on both hands in the video.

The woman said the man lived in a group home for the disabled. She says she called everyone, including the National Guard, trying to get someone to help the man. The woman is in distress and is asking viewers to share the video or come to her house to help dig up her pickup truck. The woman worried that the man might lose his fingers or even die in her house. She said her children were scared, she was scared and Joe, the older man, was scared.

Baller Alert, who shared the video on his page, said the man was rescued from their home, but no further details were given about his condition.

Blizzard in Buffalo has caused multiple deaths

So far, 18 people have died in the snowstorm. Eleven people have died in Buffalo, three in Amherst and three in Cheektowaga. A 27-year-old Lockport man died of suspected carbon monoxide poisoning. The people who died in Erie County range in age from 22 to 93.

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz told WIVB:

There can be more. I don’t want to say that this will be the case because it would be a fallacy to say so. Because we know people get stuck in cars for more than two days. And there are people in homes that are now experiencing freezing temperatures.

My thoughts are with everyone who lost someone this bank holiday weekend due to the blizzard.
