Chester County: Merlin Road Closed For Pipe Replacement

Merlin Road will be closed next week for pipe replacement in East Pikeland, Charlestown Townships

King of Prussia, PA – Merlin Road is scheduled to close next week in the townships of East Pikeland and Charlestown, Chester County, for pipe replacement, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
Due to the need to swap pipes at two different locations along Merlin Road, the carriageway will be closed and rerouted according to the following work locations and schedules:

  • A road closure is planned on Merlin Road between Pikeland Road and Western Road on Tuesday 17 May and Wednesday 18 May from 9am to 3pm. During the closure, motorists are directed to use Pikeland Road/Clover Mill Road, Route 113 (Pike Springs Road) and Coldstream Road; and
  • A road closure is scheduled on Merlin Road between Yellow Springs Road and Pikeland Road on Thursday, May 19 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Yellow Springs Road, Hollow Road and Pikeland Road.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near work areas as congestion and delays can occur. Local access will be maintained during operations and schedules are weather dependent.
