Civic Body Begins Cleaning Of Drains Ahead Of Monsoon |

Raipur: Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) has launched a special operation to clean up all major drains in the capital ahead of the monsoon.
Pre-monsoon cleaning work was carried out in various places including the Arman drain in Rajatalab of Guru Govind Singh commune, the drain in Sanjay Gandhi Nagar of Netaji Kanhaiyalal Bazari commune, the drains in District No. 50 of zone ten and the drain in near Nilanchal Vihar residential colony in Maharishi Valmiki district 32 of zone 9, drains near Sumeru Mutt and Maruti Nagar in Mahamaya Mandir district, the drain near Moreshwar Rao Gadre government hospital, district 59, and the Marble Line drain.
RMC Commissioner Mayank Chaturvedi has also issued instructions to ban dumping of rubbish in road dividers.
The commissioner noted that after cleaning the streets and drains, the garbage is disposed of in the street partitions. “This practice not only harms the plants, but also detracts from the city’s aesthetics,” he said
The commissioner has directed all zone commissioners to enforce a ban on throwing trash in the partitions and to ensure cleaning staff at the RMC adhere to this policy.
