Elliot Julian and Dillion Newton secure top spots at the National Event
Two apprentice plumbers from Cornwall College St Austell have received national recognition at the prestigious World Skills Plumbing competition in Manchester. Competing against Britain's best young talent, Elliot Julian secured an impressive second place, while Dillion Newton secured third place.
Their success not only highlights their individual abilities and commitment, but also makes Cornwall College and the wider community proud.
Success on the national stage
Elliot, who is employed by Ryan Nicholls Plumbing and Heating, commented on his performance:
“I am so happy to have come second in such tough competition. It was an amazing experience to test my skills at this level and represent the college and my workplace on a national stage.”
Dillion, also an apprentice at Ryan Nicholls Plumbing and Heating, shared his excitement:
“I couldn't be happier with my work and my success, I'm so proud to have taken third place. The national competition was a worthwhile challenge, but the competition was tough and tested our knowledge and skills.”
The competition is a prestigious annual event that sets the standard for excellence in professional skills and tests participants' technical competence, problem-solving skills and professionalism under pressure.
