Crews close St. Mary’s Street in Raleigh for sewer repair

RALEIGH, NC (WNCN) – A sewer repair forced crews in Raleigh to close a road late Monday evening and into Tuesday morning.

St. Mary’s Street between Fairview Road and Glenwood Avenue is closed, Raleigh city officials said in a news release late Monday night.

Access for businesses and households remains open, the press release says.

Officials said the road, which is closed in the 2100 block, was due to reopen at 6 a.m. Tuesday.

The emergency services have set up a diversion.

Traffic entering St. Mary’s Street from Glenwood Avenue turns right onto Cowper Drive, right onto Fairview Road, and then rejoins St. Mary’s Street.

Motorists traveling northbound on St. Mary’s Street should turn right onto Fairview Road, left onto Cowper Drive and then onto Glenwood Avenue.

Officials said utility customers in the area should not have any service disruptions.
