Dad Too Stubborn To Call A Plumber To Make Problem Ten Times Worse With Botched DIY Attempt — The Betoota Advocate

In an amazing display of stubbornness, father Gary Palmer of Betoota Heights managed to turn a minor plumbing mistake into a full-blown disaster after a botched DIY attempt.
The chaos began when Gary, the self-proclaimed jack-of-all-trades, noticed an annoying dripping from the kitchen faucet. Ignoring his wife Deb's advice to call a plumber, Gary confidently declared, “I've got this under control,” and dismissed the idea of spending hundreds on a professional. “Plumbers just tinker around with faucets a bit,” he said. “This should be a piece of cake.”
After a trip to Bunnings to source what he called the “perfect part” and a quick YouTube tutorial, Gary set to work fixing the leaky tap. However, his DIY zeal resulted in several key components coming loose, causing water to pour out and gradually leaving the kitchen flooded.
Gary didn't let the flood warning for his kitchen deter him and carried on, convinced he could save the day. He kept turning and turning his wrench, convinced he would miraculously solve the problem. Instead, each turn of the wrench only seemed to make the situation worse, as another torrent of water broke loose, soaking everything in sight.
By the time Gary finally threw in the towel, the kitchen was flooded and Deb, with the local plumber's business card in hand, had already scheduled an emergency appointment.
Despite the chaos, Gary remains optimistic, claiming the kitchen “needed a thorough cleaning anyway.”
