DIY: Kitchen transformation saw renovation couple save £3k

Lauren, from Essex, showcases her renovation on her Instagram account @the_cubbyhole. The interiors expert runs an online shop and a bespoke art work service.

She discussed her kitchen renovation, which saw her transform a gray and white kitchen into a sage and white space with a breakfast bar and a farmhouse sink.

Lauren said the kitchen counters were the biggest bargain of her entire renovation.

“Our amazing kitchen worktops were our biggest bargain,” she told Express.co.uk.

The couple used Prestige Granite & Quartz worktops, a Brentwood-based company, use natural stone or quartz for their counters.

They chose white counters to match their white cupboard and say green counters and drawers.

“We ended up saving almost £3,000 and had the most amazing experience with a fantastic small and independent business.”

Despite this great saving, the total spend on the kitchen turned out to be the couple’s biggest spend.

However, Lauren was keen to make the space everything she hoped it would be.

The interiors expert said: “The biggest splurge was in fact our kitchen.

One DIY enthusiast detailed how the “perfect shade” for her living room turned her blank canvas into a stunning modern space.

Rosie Stanton chose a “daring” blue shade for her living room.

“We wanted to be daring with the color as we had moved from a flat that was painted in a light gray throughout, so we wanted to be more adventurous this time around,” Rosie said.

“The walls are painted in Paint and Paper Library in the color Squid Ink.”
