Do most Wisconsinites support Medicaid expansion, paid parental leave, lead pipe replacement and marijuana legalization?

Polls in recent years have found that a majority of Wisconsin residents support expanding Medicaid, paid vacations, replacing lead pipes and legalizing marijuana.

In November 2022, the Marquette Law School poll found that 73% of registered voters support requiring employers to give new parents paid leave. A majority of Democrats, Republicans and Independents supported mandatory parental leave.

On the issue of legalizing marijuana, 64% expressed support — with most coming from left-leaning voters, according to the October 2022 Marquette poll. 82% of Democrats expressed support, compared to 67% of independents and 43% of Republicans.

In 2019 Marquette polls, 70% of registered voters said the state should accept federal funding to expand Medicaid coverage, and 74% of registered voters agreed that the state would fund lead-water pipe replacements because of the health risks .
