The busy route to and from Portsmouth was closed at 8am on Saturday March 16th and work was expected to continue until Saturday March 23rd. There is good news from Southern Water confirming the works are “on track” to be completed on time. However, the water supplier has not yet announced an exact opening time.

Burst pipes have caused the A2030 to be closed several times this year, severely affecting traffic as drivers had to switch to the other two routes in and out of the city. Southern Water is undertaking a project to resurface a 500 meter section of sewer to prevent repeated pipe bursts.
