A village in Russia that was encrusted with ice after it was completely abandoned was captured in extraordinary drone images.
The video by the journalist and photographer Maria Passer, who lives in Moscow, shows apartments that were empty when almost all residents moved away due to a lack of work.
All but a few apartments have now fallen into disrepair, and many of the buildings are covered in thick ice from burst pipes.
While visiting with friends in February and March, when temperatures dropped to -40 ° C, 26-year-old Maria captured the breathtaking footage of the frozen village of Severny just outside the city of Vortuka.
Maria said: “When I was exploring the area, I was saddened by this dying village and the few remaining people who live there because of the terrible conditions.

“One of the houses I visited had 100 apartments, but only one family lived in it – everyone else was gone.”
Maria, who started exploring abandoned places seven years ago, said she visited hundreds of empty places, including factories, schools and castles.
