Experts have urged users of water heaters across the country to implement good installation practices to keep their water heaters safe. This follows media reports that water heaters are dangerous while bathing.
Water heaters offer comfort, convenience and joy in bathing, cooking and cleaning around the house, especially during the rainy and dry seasons. It is not a luxury device, it is required by everyone, especially given our weather conditions in Nigeria.

According to Segun Bolupe, an avid user of Ariston brand water heaters, the device remains an indispensable device needed in households and hotels.
“The water heater is one of the most important electrical appliances installed in homes, hotels and hospitals for comfort, convenience and pleasure by providing hot water for bathing, cooking, cleaning and more. In addition to the comfort, hot water has a positive effect on our health and well-being and is very cheap despite opposing perceptions, ”he added.
Emeka Ifeanyi, a household user of electrical appliances, also announced that using a water heater has brought significant comfort and convenience to families.
According to him, the use of water heaters has made everyone’s life easier and safer, adding that it is much safer today than it was many years ago with households heating water with fires or cooking rings.
“Like any other electrical appliance, a water heater is generally considered safe for home use, especially if consumers only buy brands that are trusted, ensure proper installation, and maintain them regularly for optimal performance,” noted Ifeanyi.
Another expert, Frank Jackson, urged users to look out for certain factors when purchasing a water heater. Jackson said customers need to hire certified installers, support good brands with a solid online presence, and ensure that the correct electrical wiring is used during installation.
It is important to pay attention to the wiring of the house and the correct use of the recommended electrical cables to avoid danger. Second, the correct installation of the water heaters is also crucial. Dealing with certified installers gives us a sense of security regarding product life and compliance with best practices, ”said Jackson.
He advised households to look for essential features when purchasing water heaters, as brands like Ariston guarantee safety during use.
