If you lost your water heater or suffered other damage to your home as a result of Tropical Storm Debby and you live in Tioga County, Pennsylvania, you may be eligible for a grant to help cover the cost of a new water heater. Efforts are also underway to identify additional resources that may be available to you in the post-flood recovery efforts.
Applications are available on the Develop Tioga website at www.developtioga.org. Paper versions of the application are available by contacting Develop Tioga at [email protected] or calling 570-723-8232. Paper versions will also be available at the Westfield District Office beginning August 29.
If you have completed a Tioga County water heater grant application, you do not need to complete a Tioga County flood restoration grant application. Develop Tioga will contact you with more information.
Priority consideration for the water heater grants will be given to residents of Tioga County, Pennsylvania who still need water heaters for their primary residence. Applications will be processed as quickly as possible, and home visits to process applications will begin on Thursday, August 29. If you are not home at the time of the visit, Develop Tioga will contact you to further resolve the matter.
Funding for these grants is based on available funds made possible by donations from the Tioga County Flood Relief Account accepted by the Tioga County Partnership for Community Health. Water heaters for approved grant recipients have also been generously donated by the Lions Club. If you are approved for a grant, funds will be paid directly to an approved supplier or contractor who will supply the water heater.
