Are you a Tarrant County homeowner with a septic system? You are invited to attend a free clinic this month to gain basic knowledge of wastewater treatment plant operations and maintenance activities and learn about grant opportunities up to $8,000 to repair or replace a broken system .
The clinic will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Chris W. Burkett Service Center, 620 S. Wisteria St., in Mansfield. The program is hosted by the Joe Pool Lake and Village Creek-Lake Arlington Watershed Partnership and Texas A&M AgriLife Research & Extension.

There are more than 600 properties in Arlington connected to some type of wastewater treatment plant, most of them in South Arlington.
In addition to having questions answered by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension wastewater specialists, participants can learn about a Trinity River Authority of Texas grant program focused on replacing or repairing failing wastewater treatment plants in the Joe Pool Lake and Village Creek-Lake Arlington watersheds.
