Frigid Temperatures Cause Frozen Pipes Across Northern Michigan

Cold temperatures can mean frozen pipes, and that can be a problem in northern Michigan.

Maveric Mechanical and Plumbing says they had three calls about frozen pipes in Wexford County on Monday.

Frozen pipes can burst, resulting in much higher repair costs.

They say that if you don’t freeze your pipes in the first place, you can be protected from an expensive repair.

“Raise your temperature a little, make sure your basement is warm, where the heat is obviously going to rise, and keep the temperatures a little higher than normal in those cold temperatures. Try to prevent drafts from getting into the house. Just a few simple things you can do, ”said Elijah Hoffert, owner of Maveric Mechanical and Plumbing.
