Gannett Fleming given EVMWD construction management contract for Avenues area septic-to-sewer conversion

The Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District awarded Gannett Fleming, Inc. the construction management contract to convert the Avenues area from septic tanks to the EVMWD sewer system. A 5-0 vote of the EVMWD board on Sept. 12 approved a professional services agreement with Gannett Fleming will pay the Chino Hills company $3,065,346.20. The total appropriation of $3,080,673.20 also includes $15,327.00 for overhead costs. In 2005, the district developed a groundwater management plan that identified the potential impacts of nitrates from septic tanks on drinking water supply wells. Simulations of nitrate transport were evaluated to estimate the future impacts of wastewater treatment plants on groundwater quality in the Elsinore Basin.
