GHBA Benefit home sells in Lago Mar

Chesmar Homes announced that its Greater Houston Builders Association benefit home in Lago Mar has been sold in 2021 and is expected to close in May. The proceeds from the sale will benefit two local charities – HomeAid Houston and Operation finally home.

Chesmar will complete construction of its Hillcrest plan in the coming weeks. The benefit house was built by GHBA members with donated materials, workers and services. Through the Benefit Homes project, as soon as the house is sold at market value, the proceeds will be returned to the community through the charities.

“This house is Chesmar’s seventh benefit home,” said Patrick Mayhan, chairman of the Benefit Homes project. “Your generosity is legendary in the community and in residential construction. Through the project, they donated nearly $ 1 million to charity. “

Every year two houses are built for the Benefit Homes project. Materials, labor, and services will be donated that include the lot, site preparation, surveying, foundation work, windows, doors, plumbing, roofs, fixtures, flooring, title work, and the listing. Over $ 12 million has been raised since the project began.

Chesmar’s Hillcrest Plan is a one-story design with four bedrooms and an option for a game room. Three bathrooms and a two car garage plus a covered terrace. An expanded foyer leads to an open, casual dinner, family room, and island kitchen with additional countertops. The study is conveniently located to the common area and the master suite.

“Chesmar is always honored to be part of the GHBA Benefit Homes Project,” said Scott Merovitch, president of the city of Houston. “We would like to thank our suppliers, craftsmen and suppliers for their continued loyalty to our company and the professionalism that they bring with them for residential construction.”

The homestead in Lago Mar was donated by Land Tejas. Lago Mar is a 2,033-acre master-planned community with a 3,000-square-meter clubhouse, expansive exercise room, catering kitchen, business center, restrooms, and a uniquely equipped playground for children. The community recently opened their famous 12 acre Crystal Lagoon, the largest in Texas and a unique place to stay. The lagoon has white sand beaches, azure waters, and a boardwalk designed for casual dining.

This is the 18th lot donated by Land Tejas for a total of more than $ 1,080,000. Lago Mar is located south of I-45 in the Clear Lake-Galveston Corridor. The community is in close proximity to the Armand Bayou Nature Center, one of the largest urban wildlife sanctuaries in the United States, and convenient to Space Center Houston and the Kemah Boardwalk. Summer fun is also at Schlitterbahn Waterpark on Galveston Island to the south, and nearby shopping is at the Tanger Outlet Mall.
