Hamilton man Cody Hall is New Zealand's best young plumber.

Hall was named Plumbing World's 2023 Young Plumber of the Year and will receive a slew of awards along with the title.

The final took place in Hamilton on Monday 15 November. Ten of the country's most talented young plumbers battled it out for the title at Claudelands Events Center after competing with almost 350 other qualified industry participants in June.

Hall represented King Country/Waikato. It was the second time he competed in the national finals, this time taking home a share of the total prize pool worth $80,000.

His employer, CF Reese Ltd, also won more than $4,500 in prizes and a set of Cobra golf clubs to highlight the importance they had in Hall's career.

All five winners also received a medal, certificate and shares in industry cooperative NZPM – the parent company of Plumbing World.

Hall won the regional final for Waikato/King Country in October to reach the final.

Competition ambassador Stu Watts said the event “showcases excellence among emerging young industries”.
