Groveland Township, Holly Township, MI – After a successful opening last fall, Holly Oaks ORV Park opens on Saturday April 10 for the 2021 season.

The park is located in the Groveland and Holly townships near Groveland Oaks County Park and the campground on the Dixie Highway Mining and Gravel Operations.

Riders are challenged by features such as 4 × 4 trails, single lane trails for motorbikes, steep hills, water crossings, rock crawling and other elements of challenge.

Mt. Magna, a 9,000-square-foot peak designed to recreate the experience of popular, massive rock formations in Moab, Utah, is a defining feature made possible by a donation from Magna Powertrain in Troy.

“We are looking forward to our first full season in the ORV-Park. The staff have worked hard to make upgrades in many areas including Holly Glen, Sandbox, Bath Tub Ring and Endurance Trail. In April, Holly Oaks ORV Park is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. On Fridays, the schedule will be expanded from April 30th, when the park will be open from 2pm to 8pm

A few things drivers need to know before entering the park:

 All vehicles must have a dune-style flag. This warning flag must be orange and orange Rectangular and must maintain a minimum height of 10 feet when stationary and a minimum height of 8 feet in motion

 Motorcycles and ATVs will be inspected for a United States Forest Service-approved spark arrester. Violations will not be reimbursed for violations

 Vehicles should not be louder than 94 dBa when measured 20 inches from the exhaust pipe at approximately half the rated vehicle speed. All vehicles must have a muffler and spark arrester that contain baffles that meet the established specifications of the United States Forest Service

 The park gates open one hour before the park opens

 Masks are required when entering the mountain. Holly ski and snowboard resort to use the toilet. Portable toilets will also be available

 Children aged 12 and over are allowed to ride dirt bikes and quads in the park, but must present their DNR ORV safety training certificate. Bring the certificate to the park for staff to review

“We continue to focus on safety and have introduced a new flag rule for all vehicles to improve visibility. We also monitor very closely the noise of all vehicles and make sure we are good neighbors. We look forward to a safe and fun season, ”said Coffey.

Daily online entry tickets are $ 15 per vehicle. The on-site sale of the daily vehicle cards is $ 20 per vehicle. In addition to the daily entrance fee, a current Michigan Department of Natural Resources annual ORV license ($ 26.25) and a walking permit ($ 10) are required to enter the park. ORV licenses and trail permits can be purchased online at MDNR-eLicense.com or in person from a number of DNR license agents and resellers in / around Oakland County. You can find a map of the locations on the DNR website. The closest locations to the park are the Great Lakes Ace and the Seven Lakes Party Store in Holly. A DNR recreation pass or annual vehicle permit for Oakland County Parks and Recreation is not required.

To ensure everyone is having fun and being safe, ticket sales are capped at 500 per day. When capacity is reached, a notice will be posted on Holly Oaks ORV Park’s Facebook page.

Online ticket sales will stop two hours before the park closes. Personal sales will stop one hour before the park closes. Tickets for each day can be bought online from 9 p.m. the evening before.

Purchasing a ticket online at OaklandCountyParks.com is highly recommended. A ticket is required for every vehicle entering the park, but not for vehicles that are parked in the parking lot.

This is the first full season for Holly Oaks ORV Park, which opened in September 2020. It is operated by Oakland County Parks and Recreation in association with the Parks and Recreation Division of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. The property is considered part of the Holly Recreation Area. After years of planning and collaboration, the park is the second state park area in Michigan to be jointly managed by a state and regional recreational agency.

Holly Oaks ORV Park is located off I-75 at the Grange Hall Road exit. Take Grange Hall Road east to Dixie Highway and travel north approximately half a mile. From mid-April to mid-October, visitors have access to the park from the mountain. Holly Ski and Snowboard Resort parking lot.
