OAK PARK, IL — Two Indiana residents were victims of an armed robbery Monday when the perpetrators confronted them with a sewer camera.

According to Oak Park police, it happened just before 11 a.m. Monday morning when two men committed the armed robbery in the 1000 block of S. Elmwood. The perpetrators reportedly displayed a weapon as they drove up in a black Ford SUV with a third man driving the vehicle.

The men then violently grabbed a Ridgid sewer camera and monitor worth a staggering $7,981.35 from the sidewalk and quickly fled the scene south, leaving the victims shaken.

Oak Park Police have launched a thorough investigation into the incident and are asking anyone with relevant information to come forward and help identify the perpetrators. Local law enforcement is working diligently to recover the stolen equipment and bring the perpetrators to justice.
