It amazes me how much trash people throw in the trash can.

It comes to us from a plumber who revealed what happened when a homeowner was reckless about what he threw in his sink.

The plumber told viewers: “This stoppage came after the customer threw a tonne of rice down this drain. I’m assuming it’s all in the plumbing here under the sink.”

He tried to open the sink and said: “This almost never works for me because nine times out of ten when a customer comes to me they have already tried to open the sink and it didn't work for them. “

The plunger wasn't working, so he removed the siphon under the sink, which was filled with rice.

The man said: “Remember to be careful about what you pour down your kitchen sink drain, even if you have a disposal container. It’s not a good idea to point it out much.”

He added: “If you can no longer use your garbage like a trash can for leftover food, at least try not to throw rice, coffee grounds, eggshells or grease down the drain, because that's usually what causes it to back up.”

Before the video ended, the plumber told viewers: “I flushed the little piece of leftover rice down the sink. But if there was anything left in the drain line after the test, it was washed away.”
