KALLISTA, designer and distributor of fine plumbing products, has joined forces once again with Chicago-based, internationally-recognized designer, Mick De Giulio, to create the Juxtapose Collection, a new line of kitchen faucets
Kohler Wisconsin, USA and Wilmette, Illinois, USA
With a range of aesthetic finishes and designed to please both the novice and the kitchen connoisseur, Juxtapose is a redesigned semi-professional faucet by Mick De Giulio for KALLISTA.
Mick De Giulio’s Juxtapose semi-professional faucet received the 2021 Good Design Award from the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and the European Center for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
The series consists of a semi-professional single hole faucet, a single hole bar faucet, a wall mount pot filler and a soap/lotion dispenser.
Designs are offered in a primary palette of polished chrome, stainless steel and matte black PVD finishes artfully contrasted with polished chrome, polished nickel, brushed modern brass or matte black PVD accent finishes.
In conjunction with the launch of the Juxtapose faucet, KALLISTA also introduced the contemporary cold water filter faucet, new to the Foundations collection.
The Contemporary Filter faucet is the first of its kind in the KALLISTA portfolio and features a sleek, minimalist design that harmonises beautifully with the Juxtapose series.
The faucet has a 360 degree swivel spout and requires a water filtration system such as the KOHLER Aquifer Water Filtration System.
The contemporary filter tap is available in polished chrome, polished nickel, brushed nickel, unpainted brass, matte black and KALLISTA stainless finishes.
The result is a collection that is modern without being cold, blurring the lines between appropriate scale and form with impeccable functionality.
Central to the range is the semi-professional Juxtapose kitchen faucet, a stunning design that is exceedingly chic and expertly engineered to deliver ultimate performance.
The faucet head is ergonomically designed to fit comfortably in your hand, with a sleek magnetic docking system that securely locks the faucet head in place when not in use.
The three-function spray head incorporates the latest Kohler technology: Aerate provides an even stream of water; Kohler Sweep® Spray features specially angled nozzles to create a wide, powerful stream of water for superior cleaning; and Kohler Boost™, a powerful option that instantly increases faucet flow rate by 30 percent.
Users can easily switch between sprays with a discreet switch on the back of the faucet to take on the toughest tasks with the push of a button.
Beyond the functional beauty of the design is the inspired finish palette of the Juxtapose collection, with its polished and matte metal options carefully curated to complement a wide range of interiors.
“One of the biggest movements in the kitchen over the past 20 years has been the continued evolution of open kitchens and connected spaces,” said De Giulio.
“In general, there are fewer formalities in people’s lives and this has resulted in fewer walls and barriers in our homes. The faucets were designed to fit into spaces that are open plan and visible from other areas, so a lot of attention was paid to the personality and look of the faucets.”
