KC Water begins work on frozen pipes that left couple, newborn without water

KANSAS CITY, MO. – For a couple with a newborn who has had no water since Valentine’s Day, there was a step in the right direction on Sunday.

41 Action News reported Saturday that Summer Lea Rose and her fiancé Casey Hardiman got creative to make ends meet without water.

This included buying paper plates and several boxes of water to clean her baby’s bottle. The couple also melted snow to use the toilet.

“It’s really hard,” said Rose on Saturday. “Just trying to have everything brand new and ready for him when he comes here like I’ve been working on my whole pregnancy, that’s really frustrating because it feels like I’ve built all this beautiful territory up for him at home a safe environment just for something like this to happen. “

On Sunday, Rose said KC Water crews had started digging in the ground to investigate what was causing the water outage in the couple’s home.

A spokesman for KC Water previously told 41 Action News that the problem stems from frozen pipes.

Anyone interested in helping the couple can reach them on Facebook on the Kc Hard page or on the couple’s cash app on mrtoohard.
