Rapidly moving storm

At the moment we are sure to know a few things.

-In will be a quick mover in and out in about 6-8 hours (approx. 10-5-5p-thursday).

-We also know that this will not be a big storm for our region … no wind or coastal concerns and amounts of snow will be on the lighter side.

In the end, this depends on finding out which types of rainfall fall and for how long.

What kind of precipitation?

It will be cold enough at the beginning so that a snow falls in our area in most cases, except maybe the extreme southeast of Massachusetts.

The warmer air will move over the floor in several thousand foot on Thursday, which will rain the snow to ice and finally.

The difficult part at the moment is timing the arrival of the milder air … How much snow/ice can be done before it arrives?

This answer will be delivered with further data in the next 24-36 hours.

Snet against icy rain

A memory that snow rain are the little ice spellets that run away from everything. The freezing of rain is the precipitation that falls as water and freezes when contacting the floor, a much more dangerous event. The “ice cream” on Thursday is largely changed in the form of snow and not frozen rain.

A bunch of slop

Expect that the amount of snow comes out on Tuesday.

One can certainly say that there will not be much snow in this case. For most, this will be a bunch of slop. One or two centimeters of snow, crowned by some icy pellets, turned into porridge through rain.

Looking for good news? The temperatures become milder on Thursday and will not fall immediately after the storm. This will certainly help to clean up the efforts and make the streets a little less dangerous on Thursday evening.
