Local councillor calls for septic tank grant scheme to be widened

Meath Borough Council received just 43 applications for the domestic wastewater treatment grant last year.

A local councilor says that making septic tank upgrade grants more widely available would have a positive impact on the wider environment.

Fine Gaels Joe Fox calls for changes in the law to allow people to apply for such grants without having their septic tanks inspected by the local authority.

New figures show that Meath County Council received just 43 applications for a domestic wastewater treatment grant last year.
