The van is called “Margo the Commuter” and comes from Sunshine Coast Van Fit Outs in Queensland, Australia. Margo is based on a 2011 Volkswagen Transporter and has a sophisticated design to make the most of the limited space inside while allowing customers to enjoy the great outdoors.
To outfit the campervan with everything needed for life on the road, the builders installed a full-fledged pull-out outdoor kitchen with a built-in sink and removable hob. It is accompanied by an extendable counter that can also serve as a desk.
Van owners can also use the kitchen inside, but the slide-out feature doubles the space they have to cook when the weather permits.
But the outdoor kitchen isn’t the only pull-out element that Margo comes up with. Huge drawers pull out from the garage and are used for storage, giving owners easy access to their belongings.
And there’s also an extendable rear table with two benches on each side, providing the perfect setup for al fresco dining or just sitting at your destination with a beer in hand and enjoying the views of the area.
Inside the van, owners can take advantage of several other drawers, bench seating, a micro-fridge, and a large countertop.
When not in use, the propane stove can be stored in a hidden place under the countertop.
As you can see, the guys at Sunshine Coast Van Fit Outs love to turn anything into a slide out feature. As such, they added extra functionality to the lounge setup with a clever bed. The couch becomes a comfortable bed with just a simple movement.
Built with an innate sense of minimalism, the Margo Van conversion might seem a bit cluttered and claustrophobic to some. But that’s ok because van life isn’t for everyone. What Sunshine Coast Van Fit Outs wanted to achieve with this build is to provide their customers with a campervan that allows them to be close to nature and enjoy as much time outside as possible.
