Mark Christopher Ray Obituary – Fresno, CA

He died peacefully in the care of Nancy Hinds Hospice. Mark was a retired pipe inspector with Video Inspection Specialists, a company owned by his older brother Greg.

He was also preceded in death by older siblings Julie D'Angelo, Jennifer McColl and Jeffrey Ray, as well as his sister-in-law Sheree Ray.

He is survived by siblings Gregory Ray, Marcia Shaw and Monica Lovgren, her husband Keith, Brian and his brother-in-law Tom D'Angelo, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mark attended Our Lady of Victory Elementary School and San Joaquin Memorial High School and graduated from Fresno State University with a degree in business administration.

During these years he developed numerous lifelong friendships that lasted until his untimely death. Mark was a gifted athlete who played all sports as a child and competed in golf in college.

He was an avid sports fan and attended many events surrounding his favorite Raiders and Notre Dame Irish. He also attended concerts and the like, always looking for the next good time.

Another passion he had was fishing. A few years ago, he and his cousin Matt bought a boat that would travel the high seas, or any lake, in search of the next lunker.

His kindness was unforgettable, extending his hand or kind words to anyone he needed. This was often accompanied by his outstanding wit, which could startle you before you realized that it came from a place of genuine love.

A funeral Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, July 28, at Our Lady of Victory Church in Fresno. Afterwards there will be a catered lunch next door in the social hall by Palomino's other lifelong friend.

Burial will follow at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Fresno, California.
