(Maryville, Mon.) On Tuesday, the residents of Maryville said “Yes” on an ISsuance of up to 50 million US dollars of waxing systems for the construction of a new water treatment plant.
The Nodaway County Clerk office reports that 439 inhabitants voted with the city's waterworks connection, while 109 no.
The city of Maryville plans to build a new water treatment plant to replace the aging facility, which, according to the city, exceeded its useful life.
The current plant treats surface water from Lake Mozingo and is due to algae flowers that generate taste and odor connections. In order to fix them, the city wants to build a modern 4 MGD water treatment plant with an advanced ozone biofiltration process.
According to the city, the project includes the construction of a new water treatment plant and facilities, the improvement of the raw water suction structure and the pump station, the improvement of the raw water tube, the installation of a new finished water gear with connections to the existing distribution system and decommissioning, or implementing the old plant.
Further information on the project can be found on the City of Maryville website.
