Milwaukee brings modular design to plumbing inspection
Milwaukee introduces significant improvements in pipeline inspection with the M18 battery as the power source. The Milwaukee M18 Pipeline Inspection System is a modular system designed to make inspection easier to use and more visible.
Because of the modular design, you only need to learn one control/recording system, additional parts can be added easily and inexpensively, and you simply have fewer models to sift through when deciding on the best product.
control center
The heart of the system is Milwaukee's IP54-rated Control Hub. It weighs about 4 pounds and can be removed and moved to other casters without breaking the connection to the monitor in use.
The data storage is located on the Control Hub and offers an impressive 500 GB capacity. You can transfer the videos and photos using the built-in WiFi or to a USB stick.
A very cool feature is that Milwaukee gives you the ability to hot swap your battery. There is a smaller lithium-ion battery in the Control Hub that allows you to swap batteries without losing connection or recording.
There is a zeroing button next to the power button so you can easily track the camera's distance at any time.
One-Key is also built into this device. There are no custom controls, but since it's one of the most commonly stolen tools in a plumber's van, tracking and inventory management are incredibly valuable.
camera
Milwaukee's self-leveling camera is a huge improvement for several reasons. First, they use a digital connection instead of an analog one.
This leads to a more practical upgrade – 1080P HD display. Thanks to a true HD image, it offers the ability to pan left/right and 4x digital zoom without being completely pixelated.
Milwaukee M18 Wireless Monitor 2971-20
Built-in Wi-Fi provides a wireless connection from the camera to the M18 wireless monitor. Thanks to the use of Wi-Fi instead of Bluetooth, the range is a maximum of 60 meters and you can connect multiple monitors.
The ability to use multiple monitors and tablets/smartphones is especially helpful when you want to show your customer what's going on without them having to stand right next to you. To use a tablet or phone, simply download Milwaukee's Pipeline Inspection app and connect to the Control Hub's Wi-Fi signal.
Milwaukee's 8-inch, 800 x 600 monitor is much more durable than standard tablets. It's molded around the edges and has a sunshade. While it's not a touchscreen, it does have backlit buttons and a dial for selecting options on the screen.
From the monitor, you can record videos, take photos, adjust the camera's LED brightness, add audio, and even trim your videos. You can share these files directly from the monitor via email or Airdrop. If you use a tablet or phone instead, you'll have all the same features at your disposal.
The monitor is powered by an M18 battery. Alternatively, you can connect it to the Control Hub via a USB-C cable and use its battery.
Like the Control Hub, the monitor features One-Key.
