MSD advises proper plumbing practices on World Toilet Day | News

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (WDRB) – MSD is celebrating World Toilet Day by reminding users of best practices to keep the plumbing in order.

According to a press release, MSD says toilet users should only flush “the three ps, pee, poop and toilet paper”. Anything else can clog pipes, like baby wipes, cotton balls, dental floss, diapers, hair, and fish.

According to MSD, the number of daily backups caused by clogged pipes almost doubled during the pandemic.

“Cloths won’t break even if the labels say ‘Flushable’,” said Brian Bingham, MSD’s chief operations officer, in a press release. “They twist, get stronger in bulk, block sewers and damage pumps.”
