New commercial division launched by City Plumbing

City Plumbing has launched a new Commercial division at City Plumbing to serve professionals in the light commercial sector.

As part of the launch, the Highbourne Group brand has made three strategic appointments, bringing over 40 years of industry experience. Firstly, Dave Griggs has taken on the role of Managing Director of the new division. Dave was previously managing director of City Plumbing's parts division and will help leverage his 34 years of experience with the company to help the new division “maximize and expand the distributor's existing infrastructure and relationships.”

Joining Dave is Matt Trott as Head of Commercial Plumbing & Heating. Matt has worked in the building services sector for over 35 years, holding senior roles in national sales, manufacturing and independent merchants, and this wealth of experience will help shape the mechanical services offering within the new commercial division.

Kevin Flint has also been named Head of Commercial Sanitaryware. With 15 years of industry experience from roles at Neville Lumb, Wolseley and Saint-Gobain, Kevin’s knowledge “will be vital in helping City Plumbing expand its market share in the commercial sector.”

The Commercial at City Plumbing team has already begun supplying plumbing supplies to the entire commercial sector, as well as providing renewable energy – including solar, heat pumps and MVHR – and temporary site setup for many customers in this sector. The next step will be to introduce light commercial plumbing and heating solutions, “which will happen in the next few months,” as well as a full range of plant equipment later.

The team will work directly with main contractors, mechanical and electrical installers and facilities management experts across a range of sectors including healthcare, education, offices, retail and leisure. To support customers across the country, several existing City Plumbing branches will be expanded into Commercial Hubs.

By leveraging its “market-leading logistics infrastructure and both existing and new supplier relationships,” the company says it is in a “strong position to meet the unique needs of the light commercial sector with planning and specification support as well as efficient delivery.” to the website.” Since the company already offers over-the-counter, same-day or next-day delivery, Commercial at City Plumbing is also considered an “ideal location for urgent orders and deliveries.”

Dave Griggs, Managing Director Commercial at City Plumbing, said: “Ultimately we are a national distributor with local service, which means we can offer our commercial customers competitive prices and quick turnaround times when required. Whether customers contact us to specify their projects or require an urgent delivery of parts for repairs and maintenance, our goal is to build a department that has the inventory, supplier relationships and infrastructure to deliver deliver what they need, at the right time they need it.

“Our team has extensive experience in this area and we have already taken the first step by winning numerous orders for sanitary ware and are already making rapid progress in other areas. There is a huge opportunity for us in this area and we have a clear strategy, including even more recruitment, to ensure we are able to provide the services, expertise and products our commercial customers need.”
