According to NMED, outdated septic tanks pose a threat to public health and the environment. The program provides funding to replace broken systems and covers the cost of connecting to a central sewer system. Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis and will be verified to determine whether the repairs are necessary. NMED expects to award all grants in November.

-
Applicants must meet income guidelines according to HUD guidelines. HUD guidelines vary by county
Interested applicants can apply online or pick up a physical application at an NMED branch office.
