This groundbreaking heat pump water heater doesn't need to store water.
BANGOR, Maine, Oct 16, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Nyle Water Heating Systems is proud to announce the launch of the Pyroclast™ commercial integrated heat pump water heater, developed in collaboration with Htec Packaged Systems and Controls. This revolutionary system incorporates advanced phase change material (PCM) technology for heat retention and will dramatically reduce installation time, complexity and errors.
Using a proven food-grade PCM that has four times the energy density of water, the Pyroclast™ offers a storage capacity of 375 gallons without the need for bulky water tanks. It is an all-in-one solution that dramatically reduces system footprint in new construction and retrofits while minimizing the risk of waterborne pathogens. This makes it ideal for high-demand applications such as universities, apartment buildings and high-risk healthcare facilities.

“This partnership accelerates the introduction of an entirely new class of products that further enables the electrification of home water heating,” said Ton Mathissen, CEO of Nyle Water Heating Systems. “The Pyroclast™ is designed to provide significant energy savings and easy installation in small spaces.”
For too long, commercial water heating has been complicated and prone to installation errors. The Pyroclast tries to solve this problem thanks to PCM technology.
“Each PCM module in the heat pump acts as a thermal battery and heat exchanger, storing both sensible and latent heat that is extracted from the air,” explains Austin AmatoCFO of Htec Packaged Systems and Controls. “Before the city water reaches the end-user’s taps, it passes through these modules and instantly increases its temperature before being tempered to the desired setpoint by a mixing valve. It is a true privilege to work with Nyle Water Heating Systems. the market leader in the heat pump water heater industry.”
Each company will offer this breakthrough technology under its own brand name. Contractors and MEP engineers are encouraged to visit factories to see this product in action.
