Pipe Replacement to Close Newark Road in Chester County Next Week

WEST MARLBOROUGH, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that Newark Road in West Marlborough Township, Chester County, will be closed next week for pipe replacement work.

The closure will occur on Monday, July 1, and Tuesday, July 2, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Newark Road will be closed between Church Road and the US 1 (Kennett-Oxford Bypass) interchange. During this time, motorists should use Routes 926 (Street Road), 82 (North Unionville Road), and US 1 (Kennett-Oxford Bypass) as detour routes.

Local access to the work zone will remain intact, but drivers are advised to allow additional time for travel due to expected congestion and delays. All activities are weather dependent and subject to change if conditions do not permit safe operations.

This important maintenance is part of PennDOT's efforts to improve infrastructure and ensure traffic safety in the region.
