A Michigan-based manufacturer of plumbing products plans to expand its factory in North Carolina, state and company officials announced.

BrassCraft Manufacturing Company will invest $13 million in its Thomasville, North Carolina, operations. The project is expected to create nearly 100 new jobs.

The company designs, manufactures, and distributes “rough plumbing products,” including water stops, water connectors and supply lines, water heater connectors, drain cleaning products, gas connectors, and hand tools. Its products are sold wholesale and at retail locations nationwide for both the new construction and home remodel and repair markets.

Officials said the expansion would bring its footprint in Thomasville to 157,000 square feet of production space. The new positions will include assembly workers, engineers, and management and support staff.

“The Thomasville team is critical to delivering the quality and craftsmanship that plumbers and contractors have come to expect from BrassCraft products,” BrassCraft President Tom Assante said in a statement. “Expansion of this facility is an investment in our people, our brand, and US manufacturing.”

The state will provide the company with a $200,000 grant to support the project, provided BrassCraft meets its investment and hiring goals and the award is matched by local government officials.
