Registration open for Ship Repair Bootcamp and Plumbing Bootcamp | Local News

Guam Community College Continuing Education & Workforce Development announces open enrollment for two boot camps taking place in December and January. Ship Repair Bootcamp XI begins on Monday, December 11, 2023, while the first Plumbing Bootcamp begins on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

Ship Repair Boot Camp participants receive training in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning I, Inert Gas Welding and Introduction to Body Painting. Additional training includes Heartsaver First Aid, CPR and AED, WorkKeys®, Work Ethics and OSHA. This bootcamp employer sponsor is Guam Ship Yard. They offer successful graduates a job at the end of the program. This bootcamp offers 20 open spots for those who qualify. The last day to apply for the Ship Repair Bootcamp is Friday, December 8, 2023 at 5:00 p.m.

The first Plumbing Bootcamp begins on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. Participants will receive training in the basics of plumbing technology. Additional training includes Heartsaver First Aid, CPR and AED, WorkKeys®, Work Ethics and OSHA. There are 20 places available to the qualifiers. The employer sponsor is the Guam Waterworks Authority, and graduates may be offered employment with the utility agency. The application deadline is Friday, January 12, 2023, 5 p.m

Interested parties must meet the following requirements:

Must be underemployed or unemployed

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

Must be at least 18 years old

Must be able to work in the United States

Police and court permits must be presented
