A lifestyle account on Instagram known as Blossom battered its followers when it revealed how thick layers of stubborn grease can build up between the grooves of closet doors over time.

In a video sharing several simple spring cleaning hacks, a woman was seen driving her nail over the edge of a closet to reveal the grim reality of how bad the grease residue can get.

Fortunately, there’s an easy way to get rid of it, and it’s an everyday household item that you most likely have tucked away in your closet.

All you need to fight the nasty buildup is a packet of flour.

The woman demonstrates how it works in the video, which has been viewed more than 660,000 times. She covers the entire face of the cupboard with flour before using a piece of card to scrape off the layers of fat.

Viewers were impressed when one person commented, “Whoa! That flour trick !! Excited to try that!”

You weren’t the only ones looking a little uncomfortable looking back at the video when one person wrote, “Omg, that greasy stain on your nail.”

Another struggled to hold out the entire clip, adding, “I almost vomited …”

The post also highlighted other hacks that come in handy when giving your house a good chance. This included removing limescale from bathroom faucets by tying a bag of vinegar around the faucet and using boiling water to remove stubborn dirt from wooden cooking utensils.

Another cleaning trick showed how to melt a toothbrush with a lighter to create a make-shift scrub brush that is perfect for the inner rim of a very dirty toilet bowl.
