Richmond District | Richmond District: Section of Mountain Road Will Close for Cross Pipe Replacement in Montpelier
UPDATE: Due to forecast weather conditions, work has been postponed until Wednesday April 3rd.
MONTPELIER — Weather permitting, the Virginia Department of Transportation will close a portion of Route 33 (Mountain Road) near Route 610 (Bethany Church Road) for a cross pipe replacement project in front of the Montpelier Fire Station. The work will take place overnight and begin on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Tuesday3rd of April 2and is expected to be completed by 8 a.m In the event of bad weather, work will begin on Wednesday, April 3rd at 7 p.m.
Motorists should follow the detour route provided:
Eastbound traffic: Turn right on Route 715 (Clazemont Road) south, turn left on Route 610 (Taylors Creek Road) east, and turn left on Route 610 (Bethany Church Road) north to route 33 (Mountain Road).
Westbound traffic: Turn left on Route 610 (Bethany Church Road) south, turn right on Route 610 (Taylors Creek Road) west, turn right on Route 715 (Clazemont Road) north to route 33 (Mountain Road).
