Roto-Rooter buys back Santa Rosa franchise and four others in California

Roto-Rooter has bought back its franchise in Santa Rosa and those serving five other Northern California counties.

Together the five formerly independent franchises serve a population of about 4 million people in Sonoma, Contra Costa, Santa Clara, Solano, Napa and San Benito counties.

The franchise acquisition is the largest ever by Roto-Rooter, according to a prepared statement. The franchises have combined annual sales of $22 million. The price of the deal wasn’t disclosed.

Roto-Rooter is the largest provider of plumbing repair and sewer and drain cleaning services in North America. It operates in 118 company-owned territories and has more than 500 franchise territories, serving ovr 90 percent of the U.S. population. The business is a wholly owned subsidiary of Chemed Corp., which is based in Cincinnati.
