Scottish darts star Cameron Menzies is not forgetting his responsibilities as he prepares to make his World Championship debut.
The 34-year-old Glaswegian proved this by taking on a half-shift at his day job just hours before his appearance at the PDC tournament.
Die-hard Rangers fan Menzies, who is in a relationship with fellow darts player Fallon Sherrock, will face Austrian Rusty-Jake Rodriguez in the second game on stage at the opening night at Ally Pally on Friday.
But instead of spending his morning preparing for the event, he busied himself with plumbing in the bathroom.
He posted a picture of himself at work on social media with the caption, “Working before everyone else. What a joy.”
Responding to a question about why he never took the day off, one poster joked: “I tried. But I got half a shift. Take that.”.
Menzies was a quarter-finalist on the PDC European Tour in Austria in 2019 and reached the third round of the UK Open earlier this year.
The PDC World Championships will be broadcast live on Sky Sports, with the final taking place in January.
The winner will receive £500,000, the losing finalist will receive £200,000 and each semi-finalist will receive £100,000.
