Seven major facilities a house for rent should not lack

Homeowners complain that people don’t value their property, but what they don’t do is assess the real problem(s). To be realistic, if people aren’t getting anything of value from your property, you can’t blame them for their lack of enthusiasm.

I know of a house where tenants suffer from drought from their well eight months a year. The only time they can enjoy water is the month of the year when it rains consistently, and once the rain stops frequent rains, they experience drought again.

Renting out your home isn’t the problem, but the question is does it have all the catchy facilities? The facilities make a significant contribution to the fact that a rental property finds tenants in the shortest possible time.

Facilities are important. We can’t do without them. And any home that lacks some of these amenities is not considered a complete home.

What are these facilities?

1. Water supply

We all know how important water is in our daily life. Having a home for rent that has a borehole is a huge plus. This is essential especially in Nigeria where we rarely get water from the water company. Therefore, it is one of the things that people pay attention to before renting an apartment.

2. Security

A standard rental home must have a security guard manning the property. Apart from that, all security measures must be taken in such a way that not everyone gets access to the property. Security doors are also not left out.

3. Cleaner

A real house for rent should have a cleaner who takes care of the cleanliness of the surroundings. This facility is one of the things that attract potential renters. You may feel that renters should be the ones who should be doing this, as most people know, but things have changed and homeowners need to give their property a class/standard.

4. Toiletries

Plumbing fixtures, shower/bathtub should be in good condition. With older homes, if you know you’ll need to remodel or renovate in the future, be prepared to know that reality when you look at the home, not after you’ve moved in.

5. Parking facilities

For renters who own a car, parking is a very important facility. Property owners with a house for rent should consider a large parking lot for their renters. Unfortunately, parking spaces are no longer a priority in Nigeria. Some would even not mind building on an area designated for cars.

6. Properly tiled floor

It is now assumed that houses in Nigeria are to be tiled. Gone are the days when floors were left open. Nowadays, a house without a tiled floor is not considered modern.

7. Closed Grounds

Unlike other countries, one of the things people look for before renting a home is how high the gate is. Now imagine if your property doesn’t have a gate at all, it might be a little difficult to get prospects to rent the place. Security aside, people like to have their privacy. No random person on the street needs to know what’s going on on the premises.
