Sewer Cleaning: Water Street (Queen Street to Prescott Street)

The city will finish Sewer cleaning and video inspections on Water Street from Queen Street to Prescott Street between April 29th and May 10th. The sewer cleanout begins at the west end of Water Street at Queen Street and then runs east to Prescott Street. This work is required to support planning for the complete rehabilitation of the brick sewer. This is the final step of the waterway infrastructure improvement project, which is scheduled to be completed at a later date.

Motorists should expect some traffic delays and lane reductions to accommodate cleaning equipment, as well as periodic parking losses. All work will be completed between 7am and 7pm Monday to Friday and flagmen will be on site to direct traffic. Particular attention is paid to barrier-free spaces, loading zones and Metrobus stops and these are avoided or taken into account if necessary.

A representative is on site at all times and takes care of all concerns from companies, property owners or residents. The City of St. John's apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Access St. John's at 311 or 709-754-CITY (2489), via the 311 St. John's app, or by email at access@stjohns .ca.
