CANTON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) — In 2016, an Akron-based regional planning agency identified Stark County’s top ten areas where septic systems were most likely to fail.

Stark County Commissioners can now channel $36 million in US bailout funds into these Northeast Ohio Four County Regional Planning and Development Organization (NEFCO) areas and connect up to 500 homes to the county’s sewage system.

Due to its high but mainly rural population,. The county has more septic tanks than any other county in the state.
