State money awarded to upgrades to Herndon water system | News

HERNDON – The Herndon Borough / Jackson Township joint government has received government funding, according to Senator John R. Gordner (R-27) and Representative Lynda Schlegel Culver (R-108).

The $ 300,000 grant will be used to upgrade the water system. It will also aid in the transition from a gas chlorination system to a liquid chlorination system as required by a consent order with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).

The water facility operated by the Herndon Borough / Jackson Township Joint City Council has identified several deficiencies by DEP and is currently under a permit order due to these deficiencies.
