The videoscope’s flexible form factor enables non-destructive inspections in hard-to-reach and hazardous areas while providing high image quality and reporting
Teledyne FLIR, part of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated, today announced its newest and most powerful line of Extech videoscopes, the Extech HDV700. The Extech HDV700 high-performance videoscope launches the most versatile device in its class to empower automotive, building inspection, plumbing, manufacturing and HVAC workers with unmatched camera probe options to inspect hard-to-reach areas, find problems quickly and start repairing them begin.
With a choice of eight easy-to-manoeuvre, narrow and waterproof (IP67) probes, multiple fixed and articulating probe options allow professionals to inspect machinery, pipes, air ducts and more without costly and time-consuming disassembly.
“In all condition monitoring use cases, technicians must perform inspections in hard-to-reach and often hazardous locations, whether it’s a vehicle, building envelope or ductwork,” said Rob Milner, business development director, Teledyne FLIR. “With the new Extech HDV700, professionals have access to videoscope kits with clearer, brighter, and superior image quality through the Wide Field of View (FOV) lens. Inspections are now performed faster, safer and cheaper.”
Efficient inspection with improved image and reporting capabilities
Weighing just 705g, the HDV700 enables convenient, one-handed inspection via the color capacitive touchscreen, which also works with work gloves. Image quality also plays a role in inspection efficiency – the optional high-definition 1280×720 probe combined with the wide-angle FOV lens ensures effective inspection in the most difficult spots. The direct live comparison on the screen also simplifies the inspection and enables the reference images to be checked quickly and easily. If an inspector is wondering whether or not a borehole is clean compared to its reference image, there is no longer any doubt thanks to the split-screen function. In addition, the HDMI video output allows live footage to be shared on a separate device for an additional inspector to monitor.
The HDV700 also has multiple data logging options, making it easy to generate reports anywhere by simply transferring images and videos to another device.
Availability of probes and kits
Each kit comes complete with an HDV700 videoscope screen; Camera probe (model dependent on kit ordered); 32GB micro SD card; USB-A to USB-C cable; HDMI Type A to Type D Cable; Lithium-ion battery (built-in); and universal adapter. Probe options include general purpose, dual-view inspection, two-way 180° articulation, four-way 110° articulation, and pipe inspection options.
