Over $15,000 worth of plumbing tools stolen

On March 20, at approximately 3:23 p.m., a van parked on San Carlos Avenue was broken into and $15,300 worth of plumbing tools were taken. A suspect broke into the 2019 Ford Econoline. The suspect was in a 2021 Nissan Murano that was reported stolen in Oakland. According to Capt. Chris Monahan of the Piedmont Police Department, the vehicle fled the scene and was caught on video surveillance.

An employee of the van owner reported the value of the stolen tools, including cameras and press and pipeline locators. The case is under investigation.

On March 15, a white 2008 Ford E250 van was stolen from a driveway on La Salle Avenue. The theft occurred at 3:55 a.m. The victim reported that there were $8,000 to $10,000 worth of tools in the van, according to Monahan.

Two stolen vehicles were recovered on Pleasant Valley Road on the morning of March 17th. A Piedmont police officer found a parked 2018 Chevrolet Camaro with no license plates at 7:21 a.m. Upon inspection of the vehicle, it was discovered that it had been stolen from Hercules. A 2013 Lexus ES300H was also recovered and a records check revealed it was stolen in Oakland.

On March 17 at 2:09 p.m., an officer found a 2014 Infiniti Q50 parked on Park Way without license plates. The car had been reported stolen in Alameda.

On March 18, a 2017 Lexus NX300 was found parked near Piedmont and Ridgeway Avenues in Oakland at 6:58 a.m. A records check showed it had been reported stolen in Marin.

On March 22, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Wildwood Avenue. The report was received at 10:53 a.m. The pedestrian was transported to Highland Hospital and there is no update on his condition. Monahan said the driver was not cited.
