This convenient off-road family camper with full-sized tailgate kitchen is here for your outdoor escapism!

In these unprecedented times, the importance of the family is one thing that really has been put into perspective. Add to that the bonding and learning that comes with traveling and you want to go on a family camping trip right away. The times are not such that you can go out in a traditional campsite and pitch. Social distancing standards must be followed and you want your family to be safe. A caravan makes sense here. When it comes to picking up a trailer, aesthetics are of paramount importance, followed by the convenience it provides both on the treacherous trails and when parking.

The Kerfton Camper Trailer, designed by Argentine designer Raul Gonzalez Podesta for Kerfton Australia, fills both shoes well. The caravan has been designed to be functional and look good at the same time. He’s way behind the drawing boards. A full-scale polystyrene foam model of the trailer was developed to understand the shape, design and feel before it is conveniently ready for market.

The most interesting aspect of the Kerfton trailer is that you get everything from living to sleeping and eating on board with no hassle with pitching the tent. The caravan is equipped with a large kitchen that is accessible from the tailgate and can be stored in the living area of the motorhome when you are out and about. The kitchen is ready for use once it is in position and all installation and gas requirements are met. The kitchen has a hob, storage space, prep area, small refrigerator and removable stainless steel sink to facilitate drainage.

A good trailer design is pointless if it does not match comfort. Kerfton cares about convenience that is important when you are camping with your family. While the kitchen is accessible without pitching the tent, the latter is required at night to ensure the sleeping arrangement, or when the living area is accessible to reach for the storage room large enough to store a chemical toilet and camping gear. Setting up Kerfton is effortless. While one person is preparing the food when you arrive at camp, the other person can unfold the living area and put up the awning (if the personal area needs to be expanded).

The Kerfton Camper Trailer is equipped with a queen-size bed and two large seating areas on either side that can be used as a cot at night. The effortless interior design allows the entire family of up to four members to sleep comfortably without the need for stretcher frames or inflatable mattresses. With its tires and ground clearance, the trailer can stand behind any off-road vehicle and be driven on less traveled paths. And if you venture out into the cold countryside, the camper is equipped with a heater to keep your family cozy!
