Tompkins County releases survey to gauge interest for septic repair grant

ITHACA, NY (WHCU) – Officials in Tompkins County want to know about your septic system.

In partnership with Ithaca Neighborhood Housing Services, Tompkins County Whole Health is applying for funding for septic repairs and replacements for income-eligible residents. Whole Health has released a survey to measure public interest and demonstrate the need for funding in the grant application. If successful, eligible residents could have repairs or replacements done at no cost.

Please complete the survey if:

  • your septic system must be pumped a lot, has backed up into the home, or is otherwise struggling to function
  • your septic system is more than 20 years old
  • your septic system is impacting a drinking water well
  • your home is NOT on municipal water/you have a private drinking well

The survey is available here. It must be completed by June 15.
