Municipal companyAsia's largest marketplace for technology-enabled home services, is proud to announce the release of its first short film celebrating the professions that underpin our daily lives. Titled Flushback, the first short film takes viewers on a journey through the history of plumbing – whose heritage is deeply rooted in India's culture – while highlighting the deep respect and dignity that plumbers deserve.
The short film is set up as an engaging conversation between a customer and a plumber. While the plumber solves the customer's problem, he takes the customer on a flashback, or as we call it “flushback”, of the wonders of Indian water management that began 5000 years ago in the Indus Civilization. The film not only brings dignity and pride to the plumbing profession, but also highlights how plumbing was the crucial foundation for the creation of human civilization. In this 7-minute film, every important historical and technological innovation has been captured with a unique style of animation, music and treatment that matches the contemporary style of the time.
Flushback is more than just a look at the history of plumbing; it's a haunting reminder of the skill, dedication and often overlooked expertise that goes into the skilled trades that make life so convenient. In a world where the comforts of home are often taken for granted, this film encourages viewers to pause and reflect on the many hands that contribute to our everyday well-being. By connecting the historical development of plumbing to the present, Urban Company hopes to foster a deeper appreciation for the tradespeople who make our lives better.
